Kayadu Lohar Responds To Criticism Over Immortal Promotions: ‘I Don’t Have To Explain It To Anybody’

Kayadu Lohar has addressed criticism over her limited promotional appearances for Immortal, explaining that scheduling conflicts prevented her from joining the film’s campaign as expected. The actor also clarified why she was able to participate in promotional activity for I’m Game while being less visible during the promotions of her GV Prakash Kumar-starrer.

Kayadu Lohar has responded to the discussion surrounding her promotional commitments for her recent films Immortal and I’m Game.

A section of the audience had questioned why the actor appeared for promotional activities related to I’m Game, which stars Dulquer Salmaan, while having a comparatively limited presence during the campaign for Immortal, in which she stars alongside GV Prakash Kumar.

Speaking about the issue in an interview with Galatta Plus, Kayadu said the discussion had not received much of her attention and attributed the difference to scheduling.

“I haven’t gotten into any of this (controversy). But I don’t know why people have started talking about it. I’m not paying too much heed to it, because I had that one day available for I’m Game promotion and the team over here for Immortal, they didn’t have that day.”

Kayadu Lohar Explains The Promotion Schedule

According to Kayadu, the situation was primarily the result of conflicting dates rather than a decision to prioritise one project over another.

The actor said she had intended to participate in promotional activity for Immortal, but the planned appearance could not take place because the schedules did not align.

She also explained that she was simultaneously shooting for another film.

“You know how film shootings are. It’s just not me who has to go and turn up on set; a lot of other things are also happening. I was shooting for a film, and then, I couldn’t be a part of the promotion.”

Kayadu added that she did not feel the need to justify every professional scheduling decision publicly.

“But I just feel like I don’t have to explain it to anybody.”

Her comments come after online discussions about the amount of promotional visibility given to the two films.

‘I’m Used To It’: Actor On Online Reactions

The actor acknowledged that audiences may form their own opinions about which project she considers more important.

Kayadu said she has become accustomed to such reactions.

The discussion also ties into her earlier decision to step back from social media.

In June, the actor announced that she was taking a temporary break from social media and said that professional updates would be handled by her team. She described the decision as a way of slowing down and spending more time away from screens.

Speaking about the scrutiny surrounding her career and online presence, Kayadu indicated that she does not spend too much time responding to criticism.

She said:

“I’m very bad with this. I’m just a very innocent, honest person. I’ll just speak my heart out.”

The actor also suggested that she had made peace with the tendency of social media users to scrutinise and criticise public figures.

Why The Promotion Debate Started

Promotional appearances have increasingly become an important part of film releases, particularly for actors whose presence is expected across interviews, events and social-media campaigns.

That has also created situations in which audiences compare the promotional visibility of actors across multiple projects.

In Kayadu’s case, her explanation is that availability—not preference—determined which promotional event she could attend.

She said she had only a specific day available for one campaign, while the Immortal team did not have that date available. Her shooting commitments further complicated the schedule.

As a result, the actor’s limited participation in Immortal promotions should not, based on her comments, automatically be interpreted as an indication that she considers the film less important.

Kayadu Lohar Has Two Recent Releases

Kayadu has been associated with two recent projects that placed her in the spotlight across different South Indian film industries.

I’m Game, directed by Nahas Hidhayath and headlined by Dulquer Salmaan, features Kayadu as part of its cast.

She also stars in Immortal, directed by Mariyappan Chinna, alongside GV Prakash Kumar.

With both projects arriving around the same period, the actor faced competing promotional schedules while continuing her work on another film.
