Kareena Kapoor Khan has opened up about one of the challenges of raising children in an increasingly digital world. The actor revealed that her sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan, do not have smartphones of their own, although keeping them away from screens is not always easy.
Speaking at the 16th edition of Expresso, Kareena discussed her approach to parenting and admitted that she can become particularly strict when it comes to her children’s use of phones and other digital devices. According to the actor, her husband Saif Ali Khan has a comparatively more relaxed attitude towards the issue.
Kareena says Taimur and Jeh do not own phones
Kareena revealed that neither Taimur nor Jeh has a personal phone. However, she shared an amusing detail about Taimur’s relationship with his nanny’s device.
According to Kareena, Taimur considers his nanny’s phone to be his own and has even wanted to tell his friends that it belongs to him.

“I am hyper about the whole digital thing,” Kareena said, adding that Taimur sometimes points out that she and his father also spend time talking on their phones.

The Singham Again actor also spoke about the difference between her and Saif’s parenting approaches.
While Kareena tends to be more watchful about how much time their children spend with digital devices, she said Saif believes she worries too much about the issue.

Kareena also described herself as “paranoid” about certain aspects of AI because her children are still young.
“Right now, my children are really small and I am paranoid about it. I am a mother, they are 9 and 5, and certain things about AI disturb me,” she said.
She suggested that society may need to distinguish between responsible and potentially harmful uses of emerging technology, including restrictions in certain areas.
“We need to find a way – ban certain things and use it for certain things,” Kareena said.
