Gurugram Woman Biker Shivani Chauhan Alleges She Was Targeted as Accused Kalyan Bainsla Denies Deliberate Hit

The Gurugram road crash involving woman biker Shivani Chauhan, also known as Siya, has taken a new turn after the accused driver, Kalyan Bainsla, denied intentionally hitting her. Bainsla claimed he lost control of his car near a U-turn after being surrounded by motorcyclists, while Chauhan has alleged that she was deliberately targeted and questioned why the driver did not stop after the collision. Police have arrested Bainsla and said a detailed investigation is underway.

The dispute surrounding the Gurugram bike crash has intensified after both the accused driver and the woman biker publicly presented their respective versions of the incident.

Bainsla spoke to the media before his arrest in Rajgarh, Rajasthan, and maintained that the collision was not deliberate. Chauhan, meanwhile, has released a video on social media in which she alleged that the incident involved an intentional attempt to stop or intercept her.

The Gurugram police have registered a case at Sector 56 police station and arrested Bainsla. Authorities have said that the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated.

Accused driver says he lost control near a U-turn

According to Bainsla’s account, the incident occurred between approximately 7 am and 8 am on Sunday.

He said his sister and two cousins were travelling with him in the car when a group of motorcyclists passed them.

Bainsla claimed that he asked Chauhan and another rider accompanying her to slow down but denied deliberately striking the motorcycle.

According to his version, Chauhan was turning without checking her mirrors and the car subsequently lost control near a U-turn, resulting in the collision.

Bainsla acknowledged that the accident occurred and said he accepted responsibility for the collision, but maintained that he did not intentionally hit the biker.

Bainsla says he feared stopping at the scene

The accused also addressed why he did not remain at the immediate location following the collision.

He claimed that he initially told his brother that they should stop but said the bikers began abusing them. Bainsla said he was concerned that the people surrounding the vehicle might attack him or his family members.

He further claimed that he stopped at a traffic signal and attempted to explain the situation to the riders before continuing.

Bainsla said he was travelling with family members and denied making gestures at Chauhan beyond asking her to slow down.

He also claimed that he had no previous criminal cases and described himself as being harassed following the incident.

These statements represent Bainsla’s account of the incident and will be subject to the police investigation and any evidence collected during the case.

Shivani Chauhan alleges she was deliberately targeted

Chauhan has offered a sharply different account.

In a video shared on social media, she alleged that she was targeted because she was a woman riding a motorcycle.

She questioned why the driver did not stop immediately after the collision to check whether she was safe.

According to Chauhan, the car did not remain at the scene after hitting her motorcycle. She argued that leaving the location made the incident more serious and raised questions about the driver’s actions following the crash.

She also alleged that the driver attempted to intercept her before the collision and made gestures asking her to stop.

Woman biker points to multiple videos

Chauhan has also referred to videos that have surfaced in connection with the incident.

She questioned whether the available footage, including a video recorded by another rider travelling behind her, provided sufficient evidence for authorities to investigate the driver’s conduct.

The additional footage has circulated on social media and is being discussed in connection with the case. Chauhan has alleged that it shows the occupants of the car following her and behaving aggressively.

However, the interpretation and evidentiary value of any video footage will ultimately depend on the complete recording, its context and the findings of the investigating authorities.

Social-media videos should therefore not be treated as conclusive proof of criminal intent before investigators establish the facts.

Police arrest Kalyan Bainsla

Gurugram police have arrested Bainsla and said he is being questioned as part of the investigation.

A police spokesperson said:

“We have arrested the accused and are questioning him. A detailed probe is under way.”

The case was registered at Sector 56 police station after police took suo motu cognisance of the matter.

Investigators are expected to examine the available video footage, statements from those involved and other evidence to establish how the collision occurred and what happened immediately before and after it.

Who is Shivani Chauhan?

Chauhan, who is also known as Siya, is a Delhi resident, according to the information available about the case.

She has completed a course in fashion designing and also contested the 2022 municipal elections from Kalkaji.

Her father, Roshan Chauhan, is associated with the Aam Aadmi Party.

Her background has attracted additional attention following the incident, although the central issue remains the circumstances surrounding the Gurugram road collision.
