Kiara Advani on the ‘Toxic’ Scene That Left Her Drained: ‘I Had Given It My All’

Kiara Advani has opened up about one of the most demanding scenes she filmed for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, revealing that the sequence left her emotionally and physically exhausted. The actress, who plays Nadia in Geethu Mohandas’ film, said she felt she had given everything to the performance.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Kiara Advani reflected on the experience of filming a particularly intense sequence in Toxic. She recalled how much the scene demanded from her and what the atmosphere was like after filming finally wrapped.

“I had given it my all,” Kiara said. She added that despite feeling drained, the experience had left her feeling as though she had given everything she had to the performance.

The actress also remembered the cast and crew gathering around the monitor after the scene was completed to watch the finished sequence together. For Kiara, that shared moment became one of the memorable experiences from making the film.

Kiara Advani Does Not Want to Be Defined by One Image

The Toxic actress also discussed how she approaches her career and the kinds of roles she wants to take on.

Kiara said she does not want to restrict herself by creating a fixed image or confining her work to one particular category. Instead, she wants challenging characters to push her in new directions as a performer.

“I don’t want to build a box around myself,” she said.

For Kiara, taking on demanding roles is also about creating more possibilities for the future. She explained that each challenging performance should broaden the kinds of characters she can explore next.

“Every challenging role should expand the possibilities of what I can play next,” the actress said.

‘Toxic’ Sees a Jump in Day 18 Collection

While Kiara has been discussing her experience on the film, Toxic has continued its theatrical run.

According to Sacnilk, the Yash-led film recorded an India net collection of Rs 33 lakh on Day 18, marking a reported 57.1% increase over its third Friday collection of Rs 21 lakh.

The film recorded the Saturday figure across 311 shows, compared with 274 shows on Friday.

Although the latest day showed an improvement, the overall box-office performance has remained below the expectations created by the film’s high-profile release and pre-release buzz.

‘Toxic’ Faces Competition From New Releases

The film’s theatrical run is also taking place alongside several newer releases, including Im Game, Irumudi, Sardaar 2 and Haiwaan.

The increase on the third Saturday gives Toxic a temporary boost, but the film still faces the challenge of maintaining momentum as competition for theatrical audiences increases.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead, with Kiara Advani playing Nadia. The film has also drawn discussion around its portrayal of gender, female characters and masculinity.
