The success of DC has brought a major celebration for three members of the film’s creative team. Sun Pictures producer Kalanithi Maran has reportedly gifted brand-new BMW cars to director Arun Matheswaran, actor-filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and music composer Anirudh Ravichander following the film’s commercial performance.

The gesture has been widely discussed among fans, but the celebration has also prompted questions online about Wamiqa Gabbi, who plays the central character Chandra in the film.

Sun Pictures shared a video on social media showing Kalanithi Maran presenting the keys to new BMW cars to Arun Matheswaran, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Anirudh Ravichander.

The production house captioned the post:

“Mr. Kalanithi Maran congratulated and presented the keys to brand-new BMW cars to Arun Matheswaran, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Anirudh, for the success of Blockbuster #DC!”

The video shows the three recipients posing with their cars before leaving in the vehicles.

Reports have identified the cars as BMW iX1 LWB electric SUVs. Depending on the variant, taxes, registration and location, the vehicle’s price can vary, so estimates of the total value of the three cars should be treated as approximate rather than a confirmed amount paid by the producer.

Why Are Fans Talking About Wamiqa Gabbi?

While many fans celebrated the recognition given to the film’s director, composer and other key contributors, a section of social-media users questioned why Wamiqa Gabbi was not among the recipients shown in the gifting ceremony.
