Priyanka Chahar Choudhary reflects on patience and perseverance

Mumbai: Television star Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who is currently enjoying the spotlight as the latest Naagin, says insecurity and uncertainty are inseparable from an actor’s journey. While audiences see the glamour and success, the actress reveals that behind the scenes, the road to landing a coveted role often involves long waiting periods and emotional resilience.

After emerging as one of the most talked-about faces on Bigg Boss 16, Priyanka was widely speculated to be the next Naagin. However, the role didn’t materialise instantly. Reflecting on that phase, she candidly shares that patience became her biggest lesson.

“I remember being told during Bigg Boss that I would be the next Naagin, and I was extremely excited. But like everyone else, I had to wait for it to actually happen. There were discussions, phases of uncertainty, and a lot of waiting,” Priyanka recalls.

Waiting Is Part of the Process

In an industry where momentum can change overnight, gaps between projects often test an actor’s confidence. Priyanka acknowledges that despite the buzz around her post Bigg Boss, nothing came easy.

“As actors, we’re used to auditions and meetings that don’t always convert immediately. That phase truly tests your patience. I’m grateful that this eventually materialised,” she adds.

Choosing Growth Over Stress

Instead of succumbing to pressure, Priyanka believes in channeling her energy productively. She emphasises that mental peace is essential for creative performance.

“I don’t like taking stress. When you work under pressure, you can never give your 100 per cent,” she says.

During non-shooting days, the actress keeps herself engaged with continuous learning.

“I keep myself busy with classes—dance, aerial training, workshops—something or the other. Not to distract myself, but because I genuinely enjoy learning new things.”

‘Insecurity Never Really Goes Away’

Priyanka speaks openly about the emotional realities of the profession, stating that insecurity is an unavoidable part of an actor’s life.

“You never really know what’s coming next. The waiting period can be tough, especially when good work doesn’t come your way immediately. But I also don’t want to take up just anything random.”

With experience, she says, patience gradually becomes second nature.

“Over time, patience becomes a part of every artist’s journey. Today, I’m at peace with it.”

A Journey Marked by Growth

Now stepping into the iconic Naagin franchise, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary sees the role not just as a career milestone, but as validation of perseverance, discipline, and faith in one’s journey. Her story resonates with many aspiring artists navigating uncertainty while holding on to self-belief.
