Abhishek Bachchan on Parenting Aaradhya: ‘No Gender Roles at Home’

Abhishek Bachchan rarely speaks about his personal life, but in a recent conversation, the actor shared thoughtful insights into how he and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are raising their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.

He explained that their parenting approach does not follow traditional gender roles. Instead of dividing responsibilities based on being a mother or father, both parents focus on setting the right example through their actions.

According to Abhishek, parenting at home is less about instructing and more about demonstrating values in everyday life. He emphasized that children learn more by observing than by being told what is right or wrong.

He also pointed out that there has never been a fixed division of roles between him and Aishwarya. Whether it is teaching strength, empathy, or responsibility, both parents contribute equally. He noted that Aishwarya is fully capable of handling herself, challenging the idea that certain traits or lessons must come from one parent based on gender.

He also shared a personal moment that left a lasting impression on him. One day, he asked Aaradhya to bring him a glass of water. She did so politely, but later turned the situation around by asking him for the same favor. When he initially resisted, she questioned why the expectation should be one-sided.

That simple exchange made him reflect on fairness and mutual respect. He admitted that her logic was valid and that it changed the way he approached such situations going forward.
