Kubbra Sait on Farzi Season 2: “I Signed Both Seasons Instantly”

Actor Kubbra Sait is all set to return for Farzi Season 2, confirming that she signed on for both seasons without hesitation. In an exclusive chat with India Today, she also reflected on how Sacred Games served as a turning point in her career and why consistency remains central to her journey.

Immediate Commitment to Farzi

Speaking about her return, Kubbra said, “All I can say is, I signed season one and season two, so you have to watch this, kids, I swear. They told me they were writing this character for season two. I said, ‘Done.’ They said, ‘You have to do season one first.’ I said, ‘Done.’ That was it, there was nothing more to think about.”

She added with pride, “I’m very, very proud of the way the show has turned out, and I’m super excited for season two. I’m just glad I didn’t get killed off. I killed people, but I survived.”

Staying Grounded Amid High Expectations

Despite the pressure that sequels often bring, Kubbra maintains a calm, grounded approach. “When it comes to sequels and expectations, I don’t take that pressure. That’s Raj and DK’s job, Suman’s job, and Kishore’s job. Let them do it. I don’t stress about these things,” she explained.

Reflecting on her early career, she said, “Maybe when I was younger and naive, I did take pressure when I felt like the universe revolved around me. But when you know you’ve done your job honestly, you let it go. That belief has only reaffirmed itself over time.”

Sacred Games: A Career Turning Point

Kubbra described how Sacred Games changed the way the industry viewed her. “That was a turning point, 100 percent. But I’ve just been going with the flow. I never wanted to be a one-hit wonder. I’ve always believed in consistency,” she said.

She elaborated, “What Sacred Games did for me was build a curiosity for acting and a consistency in my craft. Since then, I’ve just been learning and doing my best. I think I’m evolving as an actor, and that’s what people are getting to know today.”

A Personal Approach to Growth

Kubbra shared her philosophy on career and personal growth: “I don’t want to compete with others. What is that level of competition, really? I’d rather look at my own milestones and say, ‘Wow, I’ve done better than before,’ or ‘Given the circumstances, I did as well as I could.’ I want my cup to be full on its own.”

She emphasized authenticity: “Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. You follow that path and discover so many things about yourself. For me, it’s always been about saying, ‘This is who I am, I’m figuring it out, what do you think?’ It’s always been storytelling and conversation, and I truly feel that’s a privilege.”
