Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu recently opened up about his experience working alongside superstar Rajinikanth in the much-anticipated sequel Jailer 2. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is currently in its final stages of production.
In a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, Suraj spoke about Nelson’s distinctive storytelling style and the memorable moments he had on set with the legendary actor.
‘Nelson Blends Serious Issues With Comedy’
Speaking about the director’s approach to filmmaking, Suraj praised Nelson’s ability to combine serious themes with humor.
According to the actor, Nelson often places important social or emotional issues within lighthearted scenes, making them more engaging for audiences.

Acting With Rajinikanth Was a Special Moment
Suraj also revealed that sharing screen space with Rajinikanth initially made him nervous. The actor admitted that while filming their scenes together, he found himself recalling moments from many of the superstar’s iconic films.
“I have a combination of scenes with Rajinikanth sir, and I was very tense. When he was acting, scenes from all his films were flashing before my eyes,” Suraj said, adding that his biggest challenge was staying focused enough to deliver his dialogues naturally.
He also shared that Rajinikanth encouraged him during filming and even appreciated his performance in another project.
What to Expect From Jailer 2
The upcoming sequel to the blockbuster Jailer will once again feature Rajinikanth in the role of “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian.
The film is expected to bring back major characters from the first installment, including actors Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar.
