Janhvi Kapoor Speaks Out Against Trolling Targeting Arjun Kapoor

Actor Janhvi Kapoor has addressed the issue of online trolling, particularly when it escalates into personal attacks against her brother, Arjun Kapoor. In a recent interaction with Grazia, Janhvi reflected on how negativity on social media can sometimes turn into outright harassment.

While she said she generally takes criticism in stride, she drew a clear line when it comes to bullying.

“It hurts to feel misunderstood, or when it turns into bullying and harassment, the way I’ve seen happen with my brother sometimes. There’s no excuse for that kind of behaviour,” she said.

According to Janhvi, distancing oneself from negativity is often the healthiest response.

The actor also shared her perspective on how social media ecosystems operate. She believes much of the trolling is driven by engagement metrics rather than genuine opinions.

“If they are making content about you, you’re just a scapegoat. They’re using your name for clickbait or rage bait to push their engagement,” she explained.

Janhvi added that understanding this dynamic makes it easier not to take online criticism personally. She described the need to adopt a practical, detached mindset when dealing with such commentary.

Early Career Struggles After Sridevi’s Passing

Janhvi also spoke candidly about her early years in the industry following the loss of her mother, legendary actor Sridevi. She admitted that she struggled with confidence during the first few years of her career.

Reflecting on that period, she shared that she had subconsciously associated her excitement about fashion and public appearances with memories of her mother, which affected her enthusiasm after Sridevi’s passing.

Over time, she says she has grown more secure and less affected by outside commentary.

On the work front, Janhvi is set to appear in Peddi, starring alongside Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is slated for release in May.
