Global actor Priyanka Chopra is preparing for her return to Indian cinema with Varanasi, directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The ambitious action-adventure project, co-starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is slated for a theatrical release on April 7 next year and is already among the most anticipated films of 2027.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming Hollywood film The Bluff, Priyanka shared her excitement about collaborating with Rajamouli and described the project as potentially transformative for her career.
“The filmmaker’s name is SS Rajamouli sir and he is one of the best that we have in India. His movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think, and I’m very excited about it,” she said, as reported by the Associated Press.
Priyanka on Preparing for ‘The Bluff’
At the same event, Priyanka spoke about preparing for The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers. The film, which also stars Karl Urban, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 25.
To better understand the film’s historical and cultural backdrop, Priyanka travelled to the Cayman Islands with director Frank E. Flowers. She engaged with local communities to learn more about the region’s diverse heritage and colonial-era history, which informs the narrative of the film.
