Actor Rajpal Yadav turned emotional while addressing the media after securing interim bail in an ongoing cheque bounce case. The actor, who recently attended his niece’s wedding in Shahjahanpur, expressed deep gratitude towards his wife, Radha Yadav, for standing by him during a challenging period.
The High Court has suspended his sentence until the next hearing scheduled for March 18. Several videos from the family wedding have surfaced online, marking his first public appearance since being granted interim relief.
‘I Won’t Be Able to Repay Her’
Speaking candidly about his wife’s unwavering support, Rajpal shared that he feels indebted to her strength and resilience. He said that even across multiple lifetimes, he would not be able to repay what she has done for him and their family. According to the actor, Radha has held the family together and supported him through every difficulty.
On the Ongoing Legal Matter
Addressing the cheque bounce case, Rajpal maintained restraint, stating that the matter is currently sub judice. He said he would refrain from detailed comments for now and would present his complete position with supporting evidence through his legal team at the appropriate time.

The case dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav borrowed ₹5 crore from Delhi-based Murli Projects Pvt Ltd to finance his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. The film did not perform well commercially, and the loan reportedly remained unpaid.
Court records indicate that seven cheques issued subsequently were dishonoured. In 2024, the court directed the actor to take sincere steps toward repayment. However, in February 2026, following alleged breaches of undertakings related to repayment, the court ordered him to surrender.
Before surrendering, Rajpal had spoken emotionally to the media, stating that he did not have the financial means to clear the dues and saw no immediate solution.
Reflecting on Time in Jail
In a recent interview, Rajpal opened up about his experience during his time behind bars. He described being away from his family as the most difficult part. Beyond that, he said he accepted the routine, waking up early and focusing on breathing exercises to maintain mental balance.
As the legal proceedings continue, the actor has indicated that he intends to clarify his position in court and through formal channels.
