Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas paused her live performance in Delhi after spotting two men allegedly misbehaving with women in the audience, making a firm statement about safety at music events.

The incident occurred during her concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where the Shararat singer made a grand entrance seated in a traditional palki and dressed in ethnic attire. The energy inside the venue was electric as she performed some of her most popular tracks.

However, mid-performance, Jasmine noticed two men in the crowd whose behaviour appeared to be making nearby women uncomfortable. Without hesitation, she stopped singing and directly addressed security personnel from the stage.

“Security! Can you please remove these two guys. They are bothering the women,” she said, pointing towards the individuals.

Turning to the audience, she added in Punjabi, “Main gaana nahi gaungi jab tak ladkiyan safe feel nahi karengi” (I won’t sing until the women feel safe).

The crowd responded with loud applause as security escorted the men out of the venue. Fans praised the singer for calmly but firmly intervening instead of ignoring the situation.

Recently, another unsettling moment surfaced during Kanika Kapoor’s concert in Meghalaya. A viral video showed a man crossing barricades and climbing onto the stage in an attempt to approach the singer. Social media users criticised the security arrangements at the event.

One user wrote, “In India, women are not safe even on stage in front of so many people.” Another commented, “If this happened in Dubai, there would have been strict legal consequences.”

Against this backdrop, Jasmine Sandlas’ decisive action drew widespread appreciation online. Many users highlighted her composed response. “No foul language. No yelling. No drama. Just a clear civic message and strong action. Respect,” read one comment.

Jasmine’s intervention underscores a growing expectation that event organisers prioritise stricter security protocols, especially at high-capacity venues. Her stance — refusing to continue until women felt safe — has become a talking point across social media platforms.

As India’s concert economy expands rapidly, such incidents continue to shape the conversation around accountability, crowd control, and creating safer spaces for women at public events.
