Karan Wahi Shuts Down Engagement Rumours With Jennifer Winget: “Don’t Know Where This Came From”

Speculation travels fast in the entertainment industry—but actor Karan Wahi has firmly put an end to the latest buzz linking him romantically to longtime friend and co-star Jennifer Winget.

On Wednesday morning, multiple reports claimed that the Dill Mill Gaye actors had secretly gotten engaged and were preparing to tie the knot soon. The rumours gained traction quickly, reigniting nostalgia around one of Indian television’s most loved on-screen pairings.

However, when contacted for confirmation, Wahi dismissed the claims outright.

“Thank you for checking with me. Don’t know where this came from, but it’s not true,” the actor told SCREEN, shutting down the engagement reports.

He later added a touch of humour to his response, sharing an Instagram story that read, “Free ki PR ke liye shukriya,” making it clear that the speculation had no basis.

Longstanding Friendship, Not a Romantic Revelation

Despite the excitement around the rumours, Karan Wahi and Jennifer Winget have never publicly acknowledged a romantic relationship. Instead, the two have consistently spoken about their deep friendship, which dates back to their breakout roles in Dill Mill Gaye in 2007.

Their enduring camaraderie was once again visible when they reunited on screen in the 2024 web series Raisinghani VS Raisinghani, where they played romantic counterparts. The project marked their first collaboration in over a decade and was warmly received by fans.

Reflecting on working together again, Wahi had said in an earlier interview, “We were very excited. I was like, shukar hai.”

Jennifer echoed the sentiment with her trademark wit, saying, “14 saal ka vanwaas khatam hua.”

Wahi further noted that working with friends brings a unique energy to performances. “When you work with people you know, that comfort translates on screen. Screen time or role weight doesn’t even matter then,” he said.

Their Views on Love and Modern Relationships

During promotions for Raisinghani VS Raisinghani, both actors had also spoken candidly about relationships—comments that are now being revisited amid the rumours.

Wahi shared his perspective on modern partnerships, saying, “Relationships today should be based on trust, equality, and equity. There’s a big difference between equality and equity that people often miss. Everyone carries scars; no one is just ‘toxic’ for no reason.”

Jennifer, on the other hand, offered a more direct piece of advice: “A lot of people keep going back to unhealthy relationships. At some point, they should stop.”

The actress was previously married to actor Karan Singh Grover; the two divorced in 2014. Since then, Jennifer has largely kept her personal life away from public scrutiny.

Jennifer Winget Yet to Respond

While Wahi has categorically denied the engagement reports, Jennifer Winget has not issued a statement so far. Recently, she shared a throwback photograph from 2016 on social media, calling it a year when her “path shifted,” which some fans speculated might have fueled the rumours.

For now, however, there is no confirmation—only clarification.
