Bollywood actor Yami Gautam, admired for her naturally radiant and glass-like skin, has often been asked about the secret behind her glow. Contrary to popular belief, the answer isn’t luxury skincare or expensive treatments — it’s a simple, traditional ingredient found in most Indian homes: turmeric (haldi).
Known for her preference for all-natural skincare, Yami has repeatedly spoken about avoiding harsh chemical-based products due to her sensitive skin. Instead, she relies on homemade remedies passed down through generations.
Why Yami Gautam Trusts Haldi for Skincare

Speaking to MirchiPunjab, Yami described turmeric as more than just a beauty ingredient — calling it pure, antiseptic, and deeply rooted in Indian tradition.
“The idea of haldi is a little old school, but we believe that things you offer to God have to be some of the purest things. Haldi is one of them. Haldi is antiseptic. Haldi is shubh,” she said.
She added that her sensitive skin reacts best to gentle, natural ingredients, which led her to revisit traditional remedies.

While shooting for the film Haq, Yami participated in a haldi ceremony scene and decided to take it as a personal skincare experiment.
“My skin is really sensitive. In Haq, there is a haldi ceremony. I took it as a challenge — main haldi lagati hoon, let me see what happens,” she shared.
For the scene, turmeric was mixed with multani mitti, and the results surprised her.
“I have before-and-after images, which I will reveal later. It really worked like magic. For me, haldi is magic. I swear by it.”
Yami Gautam’s Go-To Haldi Pack for Glass-Skin Glow
Yami also revealed that she often uses her mother’s homemade haldi pack, which is both minimal and gentle — ideal for sensitive skin.
She applies the pack and gently scrubs it in circular motions to exfoliate, helping reveal brighter, smoother skin.
