A South Delhi-based content creator has set social media buzzing after sharing a detailed breakdown of her monthly expenses, revealing that she spent around ₹2 lakh in November. The candid Instagram video has drawn a mix of curiosity, surprise and debate among viewers.
Yukta Sethi, who runs the Instagram page @yuks.explores, is known for lifestyle and travel-related content. In the video, she introduces herself as a “South Delhi girl with two income streams” and walks her followers through exactly where her money went during the month.
Investments Top the List
Sethi said the largest portion of her spending went into investments, revealing that she put ₹70,000 into systematic investment plans (SIPs) in November.
“My biggest category is obviously investments,” she explained, responding to frequent questions about how she manages her finances.

Her second-biggest expense was related to her work as a content creator. Expenses linked to ‘yuks.explores’ totalled about ₹44,800, covering shoot-related costs, new equipment and staff payments.
Travel expenses for the month stood at ₹23,900, which Sethi described as lower than usual. She noted that she managed to cut costs by using her parents’ reward points. The video itself, she revealed, was filmed while she was in Mumbai.
Shopping, Food and Coffee Habits
Sethi said she spent ₹25,000 on shopping, calling it a relatively controlled amount given that November coincided with Black Friday sales. Grooming and personal maintenance cost her ₹5,000, as she reduced salon visits that month.
Food expenses came to ₹17,000, covering groceries, online food orders and meals while travelling. Another category that caught viewers’ attention was her spending on beverages — ₹7,000 on matcha and coffee. She described it as her favourite expense and praised Mumbai’s café culture as “insane” and better than Delhi’s.
Fitness and Miscellaneous Costs
Personal training sessions cost her ₹6,000, while miscellaneous expenses — including rickshaw rides, subscriptions and small daily purchases — added up to ₹4,500.

Internet Reacts
The video quickly gained traction, with many viewers expressing shock at the scale of spending. Some users asked about her monthly income, while others questioned how such a lifestyle is funded. A few defended her choices, pointing out that investments and work-related expenses formed a significant portion of the total.
The discussion reflects a broader curiosity — and divide — around urban lifestyles, influencer incomes and personal finance choices in India’s metros.

Personal finance experts note that transparency around spending, especially when it includes investments and business costs, can help normalise conversations about money. However, viral content often strips away context, leading to comparisons that may not reflect individual income levels or financial goals.
