Now, in an exclusive interaction with Zoom, Mahima Chaudhry has finally shared her reaction to the unexpected confusion caused by the reel wedding.
“People Started Congratulating Us” – Mahima Chaudhry
Recalling the moment the pictures went viral, Mahima revealed how quickly assumptions spread online.
“When the first photo from the film came out, people didn’t even know it was related to a movie. They genuinely thought a real wedding had happened. That led to a completely different reaction,” she said.
She added that the situation escalated in ways the team never anticipated.

Sanjay Mishra on the Backlash
Joining the conversation, Sanjay Mishra pointed out that not all reactions were positive.
“Some people even abused us and asked, ‘What was the need for this?’” he said, highlighting the unpredictable nature of social media reactions.
“It Was a Very Weird Situation”
Mahima admitted that the misunderstanding left her surprised.
“It was honestly very weird. I was thinking, what kind of reaction is this? But people truly believed it was real,” she said.
She also noted that audiences are now gradually realizing the truth.
“Now people are understanding that it’s a film. I really hope they find the concept interesting and come to watch it,” she added.
