Rhea Chakraborty has spoken candidly about one of the most intimate dilemmas many women in their 30s face—marriage, motherhood, and the pressure of a ticking biological clock. On her podcast Chapter 2, the actor revealed that she has started seriously considering egg freezing and has already visited a gynaecologist for consultation.
“I am 33 and I recently visited a gynaecologist for egg freezing. I am thinking about doing it,” she shared with guest Huma Qureshi on her YouTube show.
Opening up about the emotional conflict behind the decision, Rhea said, “It is such a strange place to be. Your body clock is telling you that you need to have kids, but your mind is saying you already have a kid—your brand, your business—and you need to nurture that baby.”
‘Egg freezing is tough, but it helps’
This is not the first time Rhea has spoken about expectations surrounding marriage and motherhood. In an earlier conversation with Humans of Bombay, she said she doesn’t believe in a “right age” to get married and wouldn’t mind tying the knot much later in life. She also questioned why society places the burden of timelines overwhelmingly on women.

Add Hunterfly on GoogleRhea was equally honest about the physical and emotional challenges of egg freezing. She said she does not romanticise the process and described it as “torturous,” but believes women should consider it if it gives them more control over their future.
The actor added that many of her friends froze their eggs in their 20s and 30s. As for herself, she feels she still has goals to achieve before thinking about settling down. At 32, she said, motherhood is something she wants to delay until her career milestones are fulfilled.
For Rhea, egg freezing is less about postponing motherhood and more about taking ownership of her choices in a world where women are constantly pushed toward timelines they may not be ready for.
