Success in India’s most competitive entrance examinations often comes down to consistency, discipline, and the ability to stay focused for long periods. For Shravani Krishnakant Kudale, those qualities translated into one of the country’s most remarkable academic achievements this year.

The Maharashtra student scored an impressive 710 out of 720 marks in NEET UG 2026, securing All India Rank (AIR) 5 and emerging as the highest-ranked female candidate in the examination.

While thousands of aspirants spend years preparing for NEET, Shravani’s journey stands out for the discipline she maintained throughout her preparation. One of the most significant decisions she made was staying away from mobile phones and social media for nearly a year.

A Year Without Social Media

Speaking about her preparation strategy, she revealed that she stayed away from social media and limited mobile phone usage to maintain complete focus on her studies.

The decision allowed her to dedicate more time to revision, concept building, and self-study—three elements that became central to her success.

Rather than viewing the break as a sacrifice, she considered it an investment in her long-term goal of becoming a doctor.

When the results were announced, Shravani described feeling immense joy and relief.

Reflecting on her achievement, she credited her parents and teachers for helping her navigate the demanding journey.

According to her, the support she received during difficult phases played a crucial role in keeping her motivated and focused.

For many students preparing for competitive examinations, academic success often depends not only on personal effort but also on the guidance and encouragement of family members and mentors.

Shravani’s academic journey began at Zilla Parishad Primary School in Gopalwadi, Maharashtra.

She later continued her education at Shardabai Pawar Vidyaniketan in Malegaon before enrolling in specialized NEET preparation classes in Baramati.

Her achievement highlights an important reality about competitive examinations in India: success is increasingly determined by dedication and preparation rather than the type of school a student attends.

Despite studying in a government school during her early years, Shravani has repeatedly emphasized that she never considered her educational background a limitation.

Instead, she focused on building strong conceptual foundations and maintaining consistency throughout her studies.

Inspired by Her Elder Sister

Medicine was not a random career choice for Shravani.

Her interest in biology developed over time, but watching her elder sister pursue a medical education played a major role in shaping her ambitions.

Her sister is currently studying Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at Government Medical College, Satara.

Inspired by that journey, Shravani set her sights on a medical career of her own and is now hopeful of securing admission to AIIMS Delhi, one of India’s most prestigious medical institutions.

The Power of Self-Study

One of the most striking aspects of Shravani’s preparation strategy was her emphasis on self-study.

She attributes this habit to her parents, both of whom are teachers at Zilla Parishad schools in Baramati.

According to Shravani, her parents encouraged independent learning from an early age, helping her develop the ability to understand concepts on her own rather than relying solely on classroom instruction.

During her NEET preparation, her routine reportedly included:

  • Approximately seven hours of coaching classes
  • Around six hours of self-study daily
  • Regular revision sessions
  • Concept-focused learning instead of rote memorization

This balanced approach allowed her to strengthen her understanding while continuously identifying and addressing weak areas.

Staying Calm During Uncertainty

Like many NEET aspirants, Shravani faced uncertainty when examination-related developments disrupted the original testing schedule.

During stressful periods, she relied on meditation to stay calm and maintain focus.

She also turned to her family and teachers for emotional support whenever the pressure of preparation became overwhelming.

Mental wellbeing has become an increasingly important topic in competitive exam preparation, with educators emphasizing that sustained performance requires both academic and emotional resilience.

Lessons for Future NEET Aspirants

When asked what advice she would offer future candidates, Shravani’s message was straightforward: there are no shortcuts.

She believes students should focus on:

  • Building strong conceptual understanding
  • Maintaining consistency every day
  • Prioritizing self-study
  • Avoiding excessive distractions
  • Preparing steadily rather than relying on last-minute efforts

Her experience reinforces a lesson often shared by top performers—that long-term discipline usually delivers better results than short bursts of intensive preparation.

A Story Bigger Than an Exam Rank

Shravani Kudale’s achievement is about more than securing AIR 5.

Her journey reflects the growing number of students from diverse educational backgrounds who are excelling in highly competitive national examinations through determination, effective study habits, and family support.

As she prepares for the next chapter of her medical education, her story offers valuable insights for students across the country.

In a world filled with constant notifications, endless scrolling, and digital distractions, Shravani’s success serves as a reminder that focused effort, consistent learning, and clear goals can still make an extraordinary difference.
