Actor Shamita Shetty has strongly reacted to social media trolls who targeted her over her age and unmarried status.

The actress shared screenshots of offensive comments on Instagram Stories and criticised what she described as a “patriarchal” mindset that often targets single women online.

Shamita Shetty Calls Out Age-Shaming

One of the comments shared by Shamita read:

“Aapki age ho gayi hai pehle wali baat nahi rahi.”
(“You have grown old now; you are not the same as before.”)

Responding to the remark, Shamita acknowledged that physical appearance naturally changes with time.

She wrote:

“Yes, I will look different. Things change with time, it’s the natural way of life. Nothing stays forever, including physical appearance.”

The actor further added that she values her health, fitness and happiness more than societal expectations.

“For my age, I’m healthy, fit and happy, with a grateful heart for all that the Almighty has given me… and that’s all that matters to me.”

Strong Reply on Marriage Comment

Another social media user commented that if she had married “on time,” her children would have been grown up by now.

The comment upset the actor, who questioned why society continues to judge unmarried women.

Shamita responded:

“Aapne shaadi karke kya ukhaad liya hai bhai?”

She also criticised the tendency to shame single women based on age and marital status.

“Why do you follow us single women to age-shame us and inflict us with your patriarchal, cave-man-like, male-centric thought process?”

The actor concluded by asking the troll to unfollow her account.
