Actor Tanishaa Mukerji has spoken candidly about her experience on Bigg Boss 7, describing the reality show as “traumatic” and admitting that she entered the house without fully understanding the emotional impact it could have on participants.
In a recent interview, the actor reflected on her journey inside the controversial reality show and revealed that her relationship with fellow contestant Armaan Kohli was formed during what she described as a “trauma bonding” phase.
Tanishaa, who is the daughter of veteran actor Tanuja and sister of Bollywood star Kajol, said joining Bigg Boss was not a carefully planned career move.
“It was not a conscious decision,” she shared, adding that she imagined the experience would be positive and glamorous. However, things turned out very differently once she entered the house.

She also claimed that many of her conversations were edited out because she often spoke in English, while several contestants allegedly used her famous family background to gain attention and create drama on the show.
Tanishaa recalled hearing comments about her family during the season and said she consciously avoided speaking negatively about anyone else’s relatives because of her upbringing.
“I didn’t know people were talking about my sister and brother-in-law just to get screen time,” she said, referring to Kajol and Ajay Devgn.
The actress also addressed questions raised during the show about why her celebrity family members were not visiting her inside the house.

Speaking about her bond with Armaan Kohli, whom she dated after the show before eventually parting ways in 2014, Tanishaa explained that intense reality show environments often create emotional dependency among contestants.
“These reality shows survive on trauma. The friendships and relationships formed there are often trauma bonds,” she said.
