Cocktail 2: Shahid Kapoor Calls Shooting ‘Tujhko’ With Rashmika Mandanna ‘Effortless’

The makers of Cocktail 2 have officially released the romantic track Tujhko, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in a visually soothing and emotionally layered setting. The song, unveiled on Monday, is already generating attention among fans for its soft chemistry, warm visuals and intimate storytelling.

Sharing his thoughts on the track, Shahid Kapoor described Tujhko as a song that quietly grows on listeners.

“Tujhko has a certain stillness to it… the kind that sneaks up on you. It’s romantic without trying too hard, and that’s what I connected with most,” Shahid said in a statement.

The actor also opened up about filming the sequence alongside Rashmika Mandanna.

“There’s an ease and intimacy to the song that feels very real. Shooting it with Rashmika was effortless… we just leaned into the emotion of it. I think it’s one of those songs people will want to sit with for a while,” he added.

Rashmika Mandanna Calls The Song ‘A Warm Hug’

Rashmika Mandanna also shared her experience of working on the track and described the song as emotionally comforting and calming.

“For me, Tujhko feels like a warm hug. It’s soft, emotional and filled with little moments that feel very real,” Rashmika said.

The actress further praised the emotional flow of the composition and her on-screen pairing with Shahid.

“I loved shooting this song with Shahid, and I think there’s something very calming and beautiful about the way the song unfolds,” she added.

A Soft Romantic Track With Emotional Depth

Tujhko is composed by Pritam, sung by Arijit Singh and written by lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya. The song combines emotional vulnerability with a breezy summer atmosphere, matching the romantic tone of the film.

The visuals feature flowing silhouettes, golden-hour cinematography and understated emotional moments that give the track a dreamy, immersive feel.

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 19. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon in key roles.

The movie is considered a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit Cocktail, which featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.

Earlier, the film’s track Mashooqa, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, also sparked online discussion after some social media users claimed similarities between the song and the 1993 Italian track Se So Arrubate A Nonna by music duo Bibi & Coco.

However, singer Raghav Chaitanya publicly defended composer Pritam Chakraborty and dismissed the plagiarism allegations as “completely baseless.”

With Tujhko now released, fans are eagerly waiting to see how Cocktail 2 expands the emotional and relationship-driven world established by the original film.
