Former Miss Pune and actress Twisha Sharma, whose death in Bhopal has sparked a major investigation, had previously worked in Telugu cinema before stepping away from the entertainment industry. Her final on-screen appearance came in the 2021 Telugu comedy thriller Mugguru Monagallu, which featured actors Deekshit Shetty, Srinivasa Reddy and Vennela Rama Rao in lead roles.
Twisha was found dead at her marital residence in Bhopal on May 12, just five months after marrying lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025. The incident has triggered widespread attention, with her family alleging mental harassment and dowry-related abuse by her husband and in-laws.
Twisha Sharma’s Film Career
Before entering the corporate sector, Twisha Sharma had pursued acting and modelling. She was recognised as a former Miss Pune and appeared in a small number of film projects during her acting career.
Her last released film was Mugguru Monagallu, a Telugu-language comedy thriller directed by Abhilash Reddy. The film starred Deekshit Shetty and Srinivasa Reddy and later became available on Prime Video.

Investigation Into Twisha Sharma’s Death
According to police officials, Twisha was discovered hanging inside her husband’s residence in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area. Her family has claimed that she faced ongoing emotional distress and dowry harassment after marriage.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the matter. Authorities have also announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of her husband Samarth Singh, who is reportedly absconding.
Meanwhile, Twisha’s mother-in-law Giribala Singh, a retired judge, has denied allegations made by the actress’ family and has reportedly been granted anticipatory bail.
Co-Stars React To The Tragedy
Following the news of her death, actor Deekshit Shetty and director Abhilash Reddy expressed shock and sadness. Deekshit described Twisha as “vibrant” and “hardworking,” while recalling that they had lost touch after completing the film.
