Actress Isha Malviya has opened up about dealing with social-media trolling and explained how she has learned to protect her emotional well-being from online negativity. The actress said she no longer allows strangers’ comments to affect her the way they once did, adding that she prefers to focus on her own life and the people closest to her.
Speaking about negative comments on social media, Malviya said she does not consider the people behind them part of her personal life. She also questioned why some people spend their time posting hurtful remarks about others.
“I don’t even consider these people a part of my life. Personally, I wouldn’t waste my time leaving either negative or positive comments on someone’s post. It’s pointless. But some people have so much time and energy to leave negative comments. I honestly don’t understand why they’re so free,” Malviya said.

The actress acknowledged that, like anyone else, she has days when she feels low. During those moments, she prefers to turn to her family for comfort and support.
Reflecting on how her attitude towards criticism has changed over time, Malviya said she no longer gives others the power to hurt her emotionally.
“When it comes to feeling numb, I don’t give anyone the authority to hurt me anymore. I’m the only person who can hurt myself now. In the past, I allowed people to hurt me, but that’s not the case anymore,” she said.
She added that she takes responsibility for her emotions and recognises that she can experience both good and difficult phases. However, she also acknowledged that there are times when everyone needs someone to lean on.
“…And where I am, whether in a good or bad space. However, there are still days when you feel like you need someone, and for me, that someone is definitely my mom, dad, and my dadi ma,” she added.
Why family remains important to her
Malviya also spoke about managing her personal life while living in the public eye. With attention often accompanying a career in entertainment, she said it is important to be mindful of one’s actions and aspirations.
“You have to be very careful about what you do and what you aspire to in life. But yes, there are days when I just want to chill at home,” she said.
Her comments offer a glimpse into how she approaches online criticism, personal boundaries and the importance of having a trusted support system. Rather than allowing negative comments to define her, Malviya says she is focused on taking responsibility for her feelings and turning to her family when she needs support.
