Yami Gautam has opened up about her relationship with filmmaker Aditya Dhar, describing him as a calm, respectful and grounded person. During an appearance on the Marathi television show Kon Honar Crorepati, hosted by Madhuri Dixit, the actress reflected on her love story with Aditya and explained how the values they share brought them closer.
Yami and actor Adinath Kothare are set to appear on the show to promote their upcoming film, Nayyi Navelli, which is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, according to the supplied report. In a recent promo, Yami also impressed Madhuri with her Marathi-speaking skills.

During her conversation with Madhuri Dixit, Yami recalled how the actress’s films influenced her understanding of romance while growing up. She spoke about the iconic romantic moments audiences associate with Madhuri’s movies, including the memorable ‘palat, palat’ moment.
“Watching your films, we would feel that this is what a love story should be like. Every girl dreams of something like that, a ‘palat, palat’ moment!” Yami said.
However, she explained that her real-life relationship with Aditya is quite different from the dramatic romances seen on screen. According to Yami, both of them are reserved and prefer a more understated approach to life.
She shared that despite Aditya creating dramatic stories as a filmmaker, he is a non-dramatic person in his personal life.

Yami and Aditya tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Himachal Pradesh on June 4, 2021. Their relationship began after they met while working on Uri: The Surgical Strike, the film directed by Aditya in which Yami also starred.
Recalling their early interactions, Yami said they did not speak much while shooting the film. It was during the promotional interviews that she began to understand his personality and realised how closely their values aligned.
“Our first meeting was on the set of Uri. We didn’t speak much on the film set, but during promotions, you listen to everyone’s answers. That was when I felt that here was someone whose core values and family values were very similar to mine,” she said.
Yami also praised Aditya’s conduct on set, highlighting his respectful attitude towards others and his ability to remain composed.
“On set, I had already seen the kind of person he is, and that is very rare to find. He never got angry with anyone, respected everyone, and was very passionate and very centred,” the actress added.
Madhuri responded warmly to Yami’s description, saying, “Just like you.”
Reflecting on her marriage, Yami said finding a partner with similar values was something she deeply appreciated. “If you find that kind of partner, it is a very big thing. I’m very lucky to have him as my husband,” she said.
