As Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion prepares to arrive in theatres, attention is once again turning to the Salgaonkar family at the centre of the franchise.
Among the returning cast members is Mrunal Jadhav, who has played Anu Salgaonkar, Vijay Salgaonkar’s younger daughter, since the first Drishyam film.
Now 17, Mrunal has grown up on screen alongside one of Bollywood’s most recognisable suspense franchises. She is returning as Anu in Drishyam 3, the concluding chapter directed by Abhishek Pathak.
So, who is Mrunal Jadhav and how did she become known to audiences through the Drishyam films?
Who Is Mrunal Jadhav?
Mrunal Jadhav was born on November 26, 2008, in Mumbai. She is the daughter of Ravindra Jadhav, a police officer, and Sangeeta Jadhav, a homemaker.
Mrunal entered the entertainment industry at a very young age and began acting when she was around four years old.
Over the years, she worked across television and Marathi cinema before becoming widely recognised for her role as Anu Salgaonkar in the Drishyam franchise.
Mrunal Jadhav’s Acting Career Began as a Child Artist
Before making her mark in Bollywood, Mrunal appeared in television and Marathi-language projects.
One of her early notable television appearances came in the drama ** Radha Ki Bawri ** in 2012.
She later made her Marathi film debut with ** Lai Bhaari ** in 2014, appearing alongside Riteish Deshmukh.
Her subsequent Marathi film credits include ** A Paying Ghost ** and ** Tu Hi Re **, both released in 2015. She also appeared in the 2017 fantasy comedy-drama ** Andya Cha Funda ** and the 2020 film ** Bhaybheet **.
However, it was her entry into the Drishyam franchise that brought her much wider recognition.
Mrunal Jadhav as Anu Salgaonkar in Drishyam
Mrunal became familiar to Hindi film audiences after being cast as Anu Salgaonkar, the younger daughter of Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar.
The character is part of the family at the heart of the Drishyam story, alongside Vijay, his wife Nandini and elder daughter Anju.
Mrunal reprised the role in ** Drishyam 2 **, allowing audiences to see Anu’s character continue to develop as the story moved forward.
Her return for Drishyam 3 means she is once again part of Vijay Salgaonkar’s family as the franchise reaches its planned conclusion.
Mrunal Jadhav Returns for Drishyam: The Conclusion
Drishyam: The Conclusion is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak, with the screenplay credited to Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.
Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, while Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav reprise their respective roles.
The third instalment also introduces Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj to the ensemble.
The film is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and presented by Star Studio18.
What Is Different About Drishyam 3?
According to writer-director Abhishek Pathak, the final chapter takes the franchise in a new direction.
Rather than simply repeating the formula of the previous films, Drishyam 3 has been developed with a new story and screenplay while retaining the suspense and mystery associated with the franchise.
The film continues the story of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family following the events of Drishyam 2.
For Mrunal, that means returning to a character she first played as a child and bringing Anu back to the screen several years after the previous instalment.
Mrunal Jadhav in The Great Indian Kapil Show
Mrunal has also recently attracted attention during the promotional campaign for Drishyam: The Conclusion.
She appeared alongside members of the film’s cast on ** The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 ** as part of the promotional activities surrounding the upcoming film.
The appearance offered audiences an opportunity to see the actor alongside her Drishyam co-stars outside the film’s intense suspense-driven setting.
From Child Artist to a Returning Drishyam Actor
Mrunal Jadhav’s journey in the Drishyam franchise is notable because she has grown up with the series.
She began working as a child artist and built experience through Marathi television and films before taking on one of the most recognisable roles of her young career.
At 17, she now returns as Anu Salgaonkar for what is being presented as the final chapter of the Hindi Drishyam franchise.
With Ajay Devgn back as Vijay and the Salgaonkar family once again at the centre of the story, Mrunal’s return gives audiences another chance to see the actor in the role that introduced her to a much wider Hindi-speaking audience.
