Kappi Squad OTT Release Date: JioHotstar’s 100-Episode Malayalam Series to Premiere October 15

JioHotstar has announced the premiere date of Kappi Squad, an upcoming Malayalam web series planned as a 100-episode show. The series will begin streaming on October 15 and will also be released in dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

JioHotstar is expanding its Malayalam content slate with Kappi Squad, a long-format web series that brings together actors, digital creators and filmmakers.

The makers announced the release date on social media along with a new poster, confirming that the series will premiere on October 15, 2026.

Unlike conventional streaming shows that typically run for a limited number of episodes, Kappi Squad is planned as a 100-episode series, giving it a substantially longer format.

The Malayalam series will also be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi dubbed versions, potentially making the show accessible to audiences beyond Kerala.

The makers have positioned the project as a long-running digital series rather than a short seasonal web show.

Who created Kappi Squad?

The series has been created by actor-filmmaker Srikanth Mohan, who previously directed the SonyLIV series Jai Mahendran, which starred Saiju Kurup.

Jai Mahendran marked Srikanth Mohan’s work in the streaming space, while Kappi Squad takes him into another long-format series format.

Belraj Kalarickal is directing Kappi Squad. The writing credits go to Adithya Thejas and Subin George.

Kappi Squad is being produced by First Print Studios, the production banner associated with Rahul Riji Nair, in association with JioHotstar.

Rahul Riji Nair has worked across directing and production in Malayalam cinema and streaming projects. His directorial credits include films such as Ottamuri Velicham and Kalla Nottam.

His involvement with Kappi Squad also places the series within a production setup that combines independent Malayalam filmmaking experience with a major streaming platform.

Rakesh Dharan and Jayakrishnan Vijayan are credited as cinematographers, while Appu Bhattathiri is handling the editing.

Music for the series has been composed by Sidhartha Pradeep.

The production of Kappi Squad was formally launched with a traditional pooja ceremony in June.

The makers have now followed the production announcement with the October 15 premiere date, giving viewers a clearer idea of when the 100-episode series will begin its streaming run.
