Anupam Kher Addresses Govinda’s Dating Rumours and Marriage Speculation: ‘He Can Deal With It’

Anupam Kher has spoken about the recent speculation surrounding Govinda’s personal life, including rumours linking the actor to Komal Rani Swarnkar and reports concerning his marriage to Sunita Ahuja.

In a recent conversation, Kher reflected on his long professional association with Govinda and urged the veteran actor not to allow personal circumstances to overshadow his contribution to the entertainment industry.

“I am very fond of [Govinda]. I think he is one of the finest actors that I have worked with. I have done 10-12 films with him. Improvisation, acting, dance – no one can compete with him,” Kher said in an interview with Faridoon Shahryar, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

The veteran actor’s comments highlighted his longstanding admiration for Govinda’s versatility, particularly his ability to combine acting, improvisation and dance.

However, Kher also expressed concern that the attention surrounding Govinda’s private life could overshadow his professional legacy.

Kher said that personal difficulties and habits should not become the defining aspects of a person’s public identity.

“You should not allow your personal life or your habits to overshadow your entire life,” he said.

At the same time, Kher avoided passing judgment on Govinda or attempting to explain the circumstances surrounding the actor’s private life.

“I am no one to pass a judgment on him. He knows his life better, and he can deal with it,” Kher added.

His comments come at a time when Govinda has once again been the subject of considerable media attention because of reports and speculation concerning his relationships.

Kher also revealed that he had personally attempted to contact Govinda.

“I called him once and he said he will call me back. I wanted to tell him, this too shall pass,” he recalled.

“Everyone’s life has tragedy. I don’t think the problem is that he doesn’t know how to market himself. I think he has gotten bogged down by his surroundings, by his life, but he hasn’t given up yet, so there is hope,” Kher said.

The actor expressed hope that Govinda will return to doing more work and continue his career in the industry.

“I pray that he bounces back and does much more work than he is doing,” Kher added.
