Madhur Bhandarkar wraps filming of The Wives featuring Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, and Regina Cassandra.

National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has officially completed shooting for his upcoming film, The Wives. The project features a stellar ensemble including Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa, and Freddy Daruvala. With filming wrapped, post-production work is now underway, bringing the film closer to its anticipated release.

What The Wives Is About

Known for exploring the human side of the glamorous world, Bhandarkar turns his focus to the private lives of those living in the public eye. The Wives delves into ambition, emotional struggles, insecurity, and the intricate dynamics of relationships beyond Bollywood’s glitz.

In a statement, Bhandarkar said:

The Wives is a story that goes beyond the spotlight to explore personal lives often overshadowed by fame. It examines relationships, ambition, insecurity, and emotional survival in a world driven by image and success. I wanted to tell this story with honesty and sensitivity, and I’m grateful to my cast and crew for bringing so much authenticity to the screen.”

Producer Pranav Jain of PJ Motion Pictures added:

“Working with Madhur sir is always creatively fulfilling. He has a unique ability to tell complex human stories in a way that resonates. The Wives is bold, thought-provoking, and emotionally engaging—I’m confident it will strike a chord with audiences who enjoy meaningful cinema.”

Cast and Clarifications

Contrary to earlier reports, Fatima Sana Shaikh is not part of the film. Bhandarkar clarified to Hindustan Times:

“The reports around her casting were all untrue. She never signed the film or was roped in to play one of the wives.”

The cast promises a mix of talent across generations, with Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, and Regina Cassandra portraying key roles in the narrative.

Production Updates and Anticipation

The Wives marks Bhandarkar’s second collaboration with producer Pranav Jain after India Lockdown, which was acclaimed for its timely storytelling and realism. With filming complete, the team is now moving into post-production. Updates regarding the official release date are expected in the coming months.

Bhandarkar expressed excitement about audience reactions:

“The shoot of the film has been wrapped up, and I can’t wait to see how viewers respond. The film has come out well, and post-production is now underway.”
