Sai Pallavi Calls Playing Sita in Ramayana a Blessing, Says She Focused on Inner Purity for the Role

Actor Sai Pallavi has shared an emotional glimpse into her preparation for portraying Goddess Sita in director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated film Ramayana. Speaking during the film’s press event in New Delhi, the actor described the opportunity as one of the most meaningful experiences of her career, saying she viewed the role not as an achievement she pursued, but as a blessing entrusted to her.

The upcoming epic, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana, is among the most awaited Indian films currently in production.

“I Was Blessed to Play Sita”

Reflecting on the responsibility of portraying one of the most revered figures in Indian tradition, Sai Pallavi said the role demanded emotional sincerity and complete commitment.

According to the actor, playing Sita is not a character an actor can simply prepare for in the conventional sense.

“I don’t think I chose to play Sita Maa. I was blessed to play this role. It’s not something you can chase or plan.”

She explained that throughout filming, she relied on meditation and prayer to remain emotionally centered.

Sai Pallavi shared that she would pray for guidance so that her performance reflected the spirit of the character as faithfully as possible.

The actor also spoke about maintaining a disciplined mindset during production.

She revealed that she consciously tried to keep her thoughts positive and her emotions balanced throughout the filming process.

“I always tried to keep myself as pure as possible, at least in my thoughts, and remain emotionally neutral so that I could present the best version of myself on screen.”

Sai Pallavi said portraying Sita required much more than memorizing dialogue or performing scenes, describing it as a deeply personal and spiritual journey.

Yash Reflects on Playing Ravana

Actor Yash, who portrays Ravana, also addressed the audience during the event.

He thanked producer Namit Malhotra for giving him the opportunity to play one of Indian mythology’s most complex and iconic characters.

Yash said joining the project allowed him to explore new dimensions as an actor while also improving his Hindi for the role.
