During a recent interview, the actor said he considers it his responsibility as a citizen to support leaders who have been democratically elected, irrespective of party politics. His comments come amid discussions surrounding his recent film Dhurandhar, which has faced criticism from some viewers who described it as promoting a pro-government narrative.
Madhavan Explains His Position
Addressing the criticism, Madhavan said he has never used his public platform to attack any political party or leader.
Instead, he explained that he prefers acknowledging work he believes has positively contributed to the country.

By contrast, in his forthcoming biographical film on G.D. Naidu, Madhavan said such scenes were not included because the inventor was known to hold atheist beliefs.
According to the actor, representing people accurately is part of responsible storytelling.
He also said that presenting India’s achievements positively should not be viewed as controversial.
Preparing for the Release of G.D.N.
Madhavan is currently promoting G.D.N., a biographical drama based on the life of G.D. Naidu, the inventor and industrialist often referred to as the “Edison of India.”
