During an appearance on entrepreneur Raj Shamani’s podcast, Bobby Deol shared how the fear generated by the Ranga-Billa case deeply affected his upbringing.

According to the actor, one of his school friends was allegedly kidnapped during the period when the criminals were active. The incident heightened concerns within his family and eventually led to strict restrictions on his movements.

Recalling the episode, Bobby explained that after learning his name had reportedly been mentioned during the investigation, his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, became extremely protective.

As a result, Bobby spent much of his childhood under close supervision and was rarely permitted to venture out alone.

Bobby revealed that his daily routine became heavily restricted after the incident.

He shared that he would return home immediately after school and was discouraged from spending time outside. Even activities many children considered routine, such as learning to ride a bicycle, were confined to the safety of the family home.
