Miss Universe India 2026 Contestant Umanga Kumawat Is Back at Her Google Job After Pageant Run

Just weeks after stepping onto the stage at the Miss Universe India 2026 national finale in Jaipur, Umanga Kumawat is back to her regular routine at Google’s Bengaluru campus.

Umanga, who represented Madhya Pradesh at the August 23 finale, finished among the Top 20 contestants in a field of 52 participants. While Kerala’s Kaziah Liz Mejia eventually won the national title, Umanga’s pageant journey has continued to attract attention for a different reason — she returned to her technology career instead of stepping away from her corporate job.

Her journey from the pageant stage to a Google office has struck a chord online, offering a glimpse into how contestants can pursue pageantry alongside established professional careers.

From Miss Universe India Stage to Google Campus

On September 14, Umanga shared a “day in my life” video on social media, documenting what a regular workday looks like for her after the pageant.

The video begins with her getting ready for work at around 9:30 am before heading to the Google campus in Bengaluru with her laptop bag and backpack.

But her workday does not begin immediately at her desk. Umanga first visits the company’s on-campus wellness centre, where she fits in a treadmill workout and some stretching before starting her professional routine.

The rest of her day looks familiar to anyone working in a corporate environment — emails, meetings, lunch, coffee breaks and several hours working at her desk.

Umanga Kumawat’s Career in Technology

Away from the pageant world, Umanga works in cloud engineering. Her reported professional interests include areas such as cloud computing, generative AI and application development.

Her technical background in computer science and networks places her firmly in the technology sector, making her transition between the Miss Universe India stage and a corporate workplace particularly notable.

Her social media post highlights that competing in a national pageant does not necessarily mean abandoning an existing professional career.

Balancing Pageantry and a Corporate Career

Pageants are often associated with careers in modelling, acting, entertainment and media. Umanga’s experience presents a different path.

For her, participating in Miss Universe India appears to have been an opportunity to step outside her regular professional environment, develop confidence and communication skills, and experience the pageant world while continuing with her career in technology.

Her return to work also reflects a broader reality for many pageant contestants, who enter competitions while pursuing careers in fields far removed from fashion and entertainment.
