Gulki Joshi and Iqbal Khan Open Up About Yaadein’s New Village Setting

Sony SAB’s Yaadein has entered a new phase, with the show shifting its central storyline from the city to a village. The change in setting brings Dr. Dev, played by Iqbal Khan, and Dr. Srishty, portrayed by Gulki Joshi, into a very different environment as they navigate new challenges involving rural life and the local community.

The village track marks a departure from the medical mysteries and fast-moving urban backdrop that have shaped the series so far. Along with introducing a fresh narrative setting, the transition has also given the lead actors an opportunity to explore another side of their characters.

For Iqbal and Gulki, filming in the village has also meant experiencing a slower rhythm compared with the pace of a city-based shoot.

Iqbal Khan on Finding Calm Away From the City

Iqbal Khan said the quieter surroundings have offered a welcome break from the constant activity associated with urban life.

While he acknowledged the distinctive energy of cities such as Mumbai, the actor said there is something refreshing about being surrounded by silence and having the opportunity to pause.

The change in atmosphere has also influenced his experience of playing Dr. Dev. Away from the fast-paced environment of the city, the actor has been able to approach his character’s journey from a more reflective perspective.

The rural setting therefore serves not only as a backdrop for the latest storyline but also creates a different working environment for the cast and crew.

Gulki Joshi Finds a Different Rhythm in the Village Track

Gulki Joshi, who is from Indore, also connected with the slower pace of the new setting. The actress noted that stepping away from a constantly hectic routine can sometimes improve both productivity and mental clarity.

For Gulki, the village storyline has encouraged her to pay greater attention to the smaller moments of everyday life—something that can easily get lost amid the rush of a busy lifestyle.

She feels that taking occasional pauses can help people recharge and return to their work with greater energy and focus. The change in environment has similarly given her a refreshed perspective while working on Yaadein.

The village track brings a different dimension to the journeys of Dr. Dev and Dr. Srishty.
