Avika Gor Says She Wants Meaningful Roles: ‘I Don’t Want to Be Just Furniture in a Film’

Actor Avika Gor, who became a household name through Balika Vadhu, says she is now prioritising quality over quantity as she continues to shape the next phase of her career.

Speaking about her approach to selecting projects, Avika shared that meaningful characters matter more to her than simply appearing in films. She believes audiences expect strong performances from her, making script selection an important part of her professional journey.

‘I Want Characters That Let Me Perform’

While speaking to ANI during promotions for Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, Avika explained that she carefully evaluates every project before accepting it.

She said her focus remains on stories and characters that allow her to showcase her acting abilities rather than being present only for screen time.

According to the actor, she wants to choose roles that give her opportunities to perform and demonstrate her range instead of becoming what she described as “just furniture in the film.”

Her comments reflect a growing trend among actors who are placing greater emphasis on content-driven storytelling and performance-oriented roles.

Returning to Khatron Ke Khiladi 15

Avika is also making a return to the popular stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Reflecting on the experience, she said the competition continues to be physically and mentally demanding. However, she believes her previous appearance on the show was even more challenging.

Having participated in Season 9 in 2019, Avika recalled facing stunts that she found more intimidating than those in the current season.

She explained that while the latest tasks are difficult, they did not make her feel like giving up, allowing her to approach the competition with greater confidence and experience.

New Projects on the Horizon

Apart from the reality show, Avika revealed that she will soon appear in a Punjabi music video, scheduled for release on August 7.

She also hinted at another television project, although she chose not to reveal details at this stage.

The actor said an announcement would be made when the time is right, suggesting that audiences can expect to see her back on television in the near future.
