Actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor says she has never approached her career with the intention of changing public perception. Instead, she believes that consistent performances speak louder than assumptions.

Following the positive response to her recent projects, Gram Chikitsalay and Ikka, the actor reflected on her journey, discussing the importance of meaningful roles, the realities of auditioning, and the evolving landscape of OTT entertainment.

Finding Validation Through Her Work

Rather than viewing success through the size of a project, she believes each role should offer an opportunity to grow as a performer.

“I’ve always wanted to be part of projects that teach me something,” she said, adding that learning from directors, co-stars, and creative teams has consistently guided her career decisions.

Akansha believes the impact of a character matters more than the number of scenes an actor receives.

She shared that several filmmakers approached her for relatively smaller roles simply because they wanted to collaborate with her, and she saw those opportunities as valuable learning experiences rather than compromises.

The actor also addressed concerns about being typecast, explaining that most performers cannot always choose roles based solely on long-term career strategy.

Instead, she believes actors must continue proving their range through every opportunity available.
