Yash Defends Intimate Scenes in Toxic Amid ‘Vulgarity’ Debate: “Maine Toh Kiss Bhi Nahi Kiya”

Yash says there is a difference between intimacy and vulgarity

Addressing the controversy, Yash said that vulgarity is not something he supports and pointed out that audiences who have watched the material closely would notice that he did not even kiss in the scenes being discussed.

“Vulgarity is wrong. Maine toh kiss bhi nahi kiya hain, agar aapne dekha hoga toh,” Yash said.

He went on to explain that filmmakers are aware of the boundaries involved when depicting intimate moments.

According to Yash, the way such scenes are filmed is important. He argued that intimate content can be presented aesthetically and that the eventual visual impact is part of a filmmaker’s creative expression.

“Ek line hai, woh humko bhi pata hain. You have to shoot in an aesthetic way aur baad mein jo viscerally lagta hai na, that is the impact of cinema. Woh ek creator ka voice hota hai,” he explained.

His comments come after the film’s promotional material and songs generated discussion online over the chemistry and sensuality involving Yash and Kiara Advani.

“Toxic is for Gen-Zs. It’s for the conversations you guys are having, what problems you guys have with the seniors,” he said.

“Us generation ke baare mein aap log jo questions puchte ho usme kya galti hain, kyun aisa fixed rules hai, kyun aisa hi karna chahiye,” Yash added.
