Actress Kubbra Sait, known for her performances in Sacred Games, Ready and Gully Boy, has shared a deeply personal message about resilience, self-care and seeking help during difficult times. The actress revealed that she took a suicide prevention course during the Covid-19 pandemic so she would know how to respond if someone reached out to her for help.

September is observed as Suicide Prevention Month, and Kubbra used the occasion to encourage people to look after themselves and those around them.

Kubbra Sait Talks About Her Suicide Prevention Course

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Kubbra shared a video in which she spoke about the importance of small acts of connection and resilience.

She said that she often smiles at strangers simply to see how they respond. For her, these seemingly insignificant interactions are reminders that people do not have to carry every burden alone.

Reflecting on the pandemic, Kubbra revealed that she decided to take a suicide prevention course because she wanted to be prepared if someone contacted her in distress.

“I took a suicide prevention course because what if someone called me and I didn’t know how to help them,” she said.

The actress’ comments highlight the importance of being willing to listen and knowing when professional support may be necessary.

Kubbra Sait Says Self-Care Can Be Simple

Kubbra also spoke about how self-care does not necessarily require complicated routines or dramatic lifestyle changes.

She encouraged people to focus on small things that provide comfort, such as stepping outside, moving their bodies or having a warm drink.

“Maybe today looking after yourself looks like, I don’t know, stepping outside, moving your body a little bit, drinking something that, you know, makes you feel warm,” she said, adding that hot cocoa makes her feel particularly comforted.

She also offered a humorous reminder that sometimes people can simply put their phones on charge and leave them alone for a while.

‘Sometimes You Just Have to Reach Out for Professional Help’

Kubbra was careful not to present these small acts of self-care as a solution to serious emotional struggles.

She acknowledged that there are moments when people may feel overwhelmed and need more substantial support.

“None of anything that I said to you is like a magical cure,” she said.

The actress encouraged people to seek professional assistance when things become particularly difficult, describing reaching out for help as a positive and necessary step rather than something to feel ashamed about.

“Sometimes you just have to be like, boss, I don’t want to struggle anymore. So you reach out for professional help. And that’s good too,” Kubbra said.

Kubbra Sait’s Message During Suicide Prevention Month

Kubbra’s message ultimately centred on looking after both oneself and others.

She urged people to consider how they can support those they love while also recognising their own needs. Her revelation about taking a suicide prevention course during the pandemic reflects her desire to be better equipped to support someone who might reach out during a crisis.

Her comments also underline an important distinction: everyday self-care can offer comfort, but persistent or severe emotional distress may require support from a qualified mental-health professional.

For anyone experiencing a mental-health crisis or thoughts of self-harm, seeking immediate help from a qualified professional, a trusted person or local emergency services is important.
