Kaia Gerber once again had fans drawing comparisons to her famous mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, as she stepped out for a pre-Emmy Awards celebration in Los Angeles.

The 25-year-old model attended the FX and Vanity Fair pre-Emmys party on Sunday, turning heads in a figure-hugging gown that highlighted her sleek, understated approach to red-carpet dressing. With her brunette hair styled in soft waves and her familiar features on full display, Kaia looked strikingly similar to her 60-year-old mother.

Kaia’s dress featured a high neckline and a dramatic open back, with sections of the fabric appearing semi-sheer under certain lighting. The fitted silhouette gave the look a polished yet daring finish without relying on heavy embellishment.

She completed the outfit with red heels and a distinctive zebra-print handbag featuring red trim, adding a bold contrast to the otherwise streamlined ensemble.

Her soft, wavy brunette hair further intensified the comparisons with Cindy, whose signature dark hair and classic modelling features have made her one of fashion’s most recognisable faces.

Kaia was also photographed with her The Shards co-star and singer Hayes Warner, who attended the celebration in a plunging silver gown. Other stars spotted at the event included Danny DeVito and his daughter Lucy, along with Igby Rigney, Sarah Pidgeon and Jordan Roth.

Kaia appeared relaxed throughout the evening and was later seen chatting with The Shards co-star Igby Rigney as she left the event.

The latest appearance came just days after Kaia and Cindy sparked another round of mother-daughter comparisons during New York Fashion Week.

Cindy attended the launch of Kaia’s Re/Done pop-up, where the supermodel looked stylish in a black satin camisole and matching midi skirt. She layered the outfit with a leather jacket and finished the look with coordinating boots.

Kaia, meanwhile, kept her outfit more casual, wearing a cropped T-shirt with flared jeans while allowing her collaboration with the denim-focused brand to remain the centre of attention.

The pair’s resemblance has become a recurring talking point, with their brown eyes, dark voluminous hair and similar model physiques often prompting fans to describe them as near lookalikes.

Cindy has previously spoken about the constant comparisons between herself and Kaia, saying she personally enjoys the resemblance while acknowledging that the attention may not always be easy for her daughter.

In an interview with PORTER magazine, Cindy said she does not find the comparisons irritating. At the same time, she recognised that having a famous parent comes with both advantages and challenges.

“It doesn’t annoy me at all. I love it, but I don’t know what it’s like to have a famous parent. I think, for Kaia, it’s just a part of who she is, and she’s going to have to handle it,” Cindy said.

“There are perks that come with it, and then there are probably annoying things, and I have acknowledged that with her. I’m sure at times it sucks,” she added.

Cindy and Kaia Have Shared the Runway

Beyond their physical resemblance, the mother and daughter have also shared memorable moments in the fashion industry.

Cindy recalled how meaningful it has been to work alongside Kaia on various projects over the years. One of the standout moments came in 2017, when the two appeared in the same Versace show.

“We’ve had these special moments that, if I wasn’t in fashion, we wouldn’t have had. Like when we were both in the Versace show in 2017,” Cindy recalled.

She also emphasised that the experience was about each of them being recognised for their own careers rather than simply appearing as mother and daughter.

“I wasn’t there as Kaia’s mom, and she wasn’t there as my daughter. She was there, I was there, both for our own reasons, and there’ve been a few of those little moments. I love whenever I get to work with Kaia. It’s really fun,” she said.

Cindy shares Kaia and her son Presley Gerber, 27, with businessman Rande Gerber, 64. Cindy and Rande have been married since 1998.
