“It’s carefully built, this confidence. But when something like a health issue happens to you, sickness really doesn’t care how confident you look. I felt such a loss of identity when that happened to me. I felt like I had no control.”
She said it took time for her to understand that although she could not control everything that happened to her, she could control the way she responded to difficult circumstances.
“I don’t have to fake confidence, but there are other lessons that I need to learn,” she said.
Myositis Taught Samantha About Resilience
The experience also changed the way Samantha viewed qualities such as resilience, faith and hope.
She said that while she would not have chosen to experience the illness, the period eventually gave her an opportunity to learn important lessons.
“Which is resilience, faith, hope, and these things are important qualities that sickness taught me,” Samantha said.
The actor also recalled questioning why the experience had happened to her before eventually reaching a different perspective.

Samantha’s Perspective on Confidence Changed
Samantha’s comments offer a broader perspective on confidence and vulnerability. For her, confidence had once been something that could be developed through discipline and consistency.
Her experience with illness showed her that circumstances can sometimes change regardless of how prepared or confident someone feels.
That realization led her to place greater importance on resilience and emotional strength rather than relying solely on external markers of confidence.

After taking time to concentrate on her health, Samantha gradually resumed professional activities and continued to take on acting and production-related projects.
Her reflections suggest that her experience with myositis has influenced not only how she approaches her career but also how she thinks about uncertainty, confidence and personal growth.
Rather than describing recovery simply as a return to her previous life, Samantha has spoken about taking new lessons from the experience.
A Different Understanding of Strength
Samantha’s latest comments underline how a serious health challenge can change a person’s definition of strength.
For the actor, confidence is no longer simply about feeling physically strong or maintaining a particular routine. Her experience has made resilience, hope and the ability to respond to circumstances more central to her outlook.
