According to Mumbai Police, an FIR was registered at Goregaon Police Station on July 31 following Aditi Sharma’s complaint.
The FIR names:
- Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik (husband)
- Urmila Kaushik (mother-in-law)
- Kirti Kaushik (sister-in-law)
In her complaint, Aditi has alleged:
- Physical harassment
- Mental harassment
- Domestic violence
- Assault
- Verbal abuse
- Questioning of her character
- Wrongful retention of her stridhan (bridal jewellery)
According to the complaint, Aditi first met Abhineet during an online acting class in June 2021. The two later entered into a relationship and subsequently got married.
She further alleged that her husband’s behaviour changed after the marriage and referred to an incident on January 1, 2025, during which an argument allegedly escalated.
These allegations remain part of the ongoing police investigation.

Mumbai Police have initiated an investigation following the registration of the FIR.
As with any criminal case, the filing of an FIR represents the beginning of the legal process and does not establish guilt. Authorities are expected to examine evidence, record statements and proceed according to law.
