“Society Judges Women Without Reason”: Triptii Dimri on the Emotional Core of ‘Maa Behen’

Actor Triptii Dimri has spoken about the emotional depth and social message of her upcoming Netflix film Maa Behen, directed by Suresh Triveni, highlighting how the story reflects harsh societal judgments, especially toward women.

The film, which also stars Madhuri Dixit and Ravi Kishan, is set to premiere on Netflix on June 4, 2026. During promotions, Triptii shared insights into her experience on set, her admiration for her co-stars, and the powerful themes explored in the film.

“One of the Most Special Projects of My Career”

Triptii described Maa Behen as a standout project in her filmography, saying she was immediately drawn to the script after hearing it for the first time.

“I was shooting in Bhopal when Suresh sir came and narrated the story. I was completely blown away. It felt like one of the best narrations I’ve ever heard, and I knew I couldn’t say no,” she said.

She added that the film doesn’t fit into a single genre, and audiences will better understand its depth once they watch it.

A Warm and Emotional Set Experience

Reflecting on the shooting experience, Triptii described the atmosphere as both relaxed and creatively intense.

“The set felt like home. Every day was exciting, and by the end of the shoot, we were all emotional about wrapping up,” she said.

She noted that the cast and crew built a close bond during filming, with many moments of spontaneity and emotional connection on set.

Working With Madhuri Dixit and Ravi Kishan

Speaking about her co-stars, Triptii praised Madhuri Dixit for her humility and grace, calling the experience of working with her unforgettable.

“Sharing screen space with Madhuri ma’am still feels unreal. She is incredibly humble and makes everyone around her comfortable,” she said.

She also appreciated Ravi Kishan’s energy and storytelling nature, adding that his presence kept the set lively throughout the shoot.

“Ravi sir is full of energy and stories — you never get bored around him,” she added.

Triptii also recalled light-hearted moments on set, including playing Antakshari with Madhuri Dixit during breaks.

The Social Message Behind ‘Maa Behen’

Beyond its storytelling, Triptii emphasized the film’s strong social commentary on how women are often judged unfairly by society.

“The film carries many messages, but the one I personally connected with is how quickly society judges women,” she said.

She reflected on how women—especially single or independent ones—are often labelled without understanding their individuality.

“Growing up, I saw women in my neighbourhood being judged just for the way they dressed or lived. That stayed with me,” she shared.

Triptii added that the film felt personal to her, calling it a reflection of real-life experiences.

“In many ways, this film feels like an apology to those women,” she said.
