Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar is stepping into a fresh phase of her career as she prepares for two major theatrical releases this year — Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan. After spending recent years building a strong presence in the OTT space, she says she is now excited to return to big-screen cinema.
Shriya, known for her performances in Mirzapur, The Broken News, and Guilty Minds, reflected on her journey and the shift in her professional focus.
“The last few years were largely focused on OTT projects, and I really enjoyed that phase of work. Now I’m looking forward to being part of two big theatrical films. There is a lot of excitement around Mirzapur: The Movie, and I’m also thrilled about Haiwaan with Priyadarshan sir, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar,” she said.
Along with her upcoming projects, the actress also spoke candidly about a persistent issue in the entertainment industry — stereotyping based on platform work. She pointed out that actors often get confined to labels that limit opportunities.

Add Hunterfly on Google“The industry tends to stereotype very quickly. If you do a lot of OTT work, you’re often tagged as an ‘OTT actor’, and sometimes that affects film opportunities,” she explained.
Shriya added that she has always been conscious of this perception and is now focused on balancing her choices more strategically. Going forward, she hopes to prioritize strong theatrical roles that allow her to expand her film career.
