New York: Ray-Ban is reimagining the future of eyewear retail with the launch of Ray-Ban House, a two-level experiential concept in SoHo that merges shopping with culture, hospitality and personalisation.

Situated at 62 Prince Street, the 2,400-square-foot townhouse moves away from the traditional store format. Instead, it presents itself as an “urban home,” where sunglasses are displayed alongside curated objects such as books, vinyl records and collectible pieces, creating a lifestyle-driven environment.

The space made its debut as part of the Met Gala 2026 after-party circuit, hosting a live performance by Oscar and the Wolf. The event drew a high-profile crowd including Jennie, Ella Emhoff, Ellen von Unwerth and Isan Elba, positioning the venue as both a cultural hotspot and brand showcase.

Rather than labeling it a flagship store, Ray-Ban describes the concept as a hybrid platform that blends retail with social interaction. The idea reflects a broader shift across luxury sectors, where brands are designing physical spaces to encourage deeper, longer engagement rather than quick transactions.

A key feature of Ray-Ban House is its hospitality element. The venue includes a food and beverage program curated by chef Pasquale Cozzolino of Ribalta, along with relaxed seating areas and an outdoor patio designed to increase visitor dwell time.

Upstairs, the experience becomes more exclusive. A private room allows customers to book appointments and customise eyewear, including premium versions of Ray-Ban’s iconic designs with bespoke finishes and gemstone detailing.

According to company executives, the initiative is less about immediate sales and more about building lasting relationships with consumers. The strategy focuses on engagement, frequency of visits and brand immersion as long-term growth drivers.

The concept also reflects Ray-Ban’s evolving identity as a cultural brand. Following the appointment of A$AP Rocky as creative director, the company has strengthened its positioning at the intersection of fashion, music and self-expression.

Industry-wide, eyewear retail has been shifting toward experiential formats. Brands like Gentle Monster and Jacques Marie Mage have already embraced gallery-style environments and appointment-based retail. With Ray-Ban House, this approach enters the mainstream on a global scale, backed by EssilorLuxottica’s extensive network.

The space also builds on insights from Ray-Ban’s collaboration with Meta, highlighting how consumers increasingly seek context and storytelling around products rather than just functionality.

Looking ahead, the brand sees this concept as a flexible blueprint rather than a fixed model. The goal is to adapt the idea across markets while maintaining a seamless blend of innovation, design and cultural relevance.

As eyewear continues to intersect with technology and lifestyle, Ray-Ban House signals a shift: from stores that sell products to spaces that build experiences.
