Ram Charan suffered an injury on Wednesday while filming an action sequence for Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The news initially came through unofficial sources, and his family or film team had not immediately addressed it publicly.

His cousin, actress-producer Niharika Konidela, who was promoting her upcoming horror-comedy Rakasa in Tirupati, appeared visibly shaken when a reporter brought up the incident during a press interaction.

Toward the end of her media session, a reporter asked Niharika about Ram Charan’s ‘accident’ on the Peddi set. Shocked, she reacted with a wide-eyed “Huh?”, scanning the room for clarity. When someone nearby explained the situation, she gently chided the reporter:

“Sir, itla shocking ga cheptara sir? Nenu flight nunchi parigettukuntu, I didn’t even… (Sir, is this how you tell me? I ran here from the flight and didn’t even…)”

Despite the surprise, she answered one more question but soon ended the conference, saying: “Sir, miru bhayapedtunaru (Sir, you are scaring me). Sorry, I’m not able to do this. I need to take that call.” She immediately asked her team for her phone to contact her family.

Details of Ram Charan’s Injury

Sources confirmed that Ram Charan sustained an injury near his eye during the action sequence, requiring four sutures. Importantly, his eye itself was not damaged. Later, Team Peddi released a statement describing it as a “minor injury to the left eye.”

Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan’s father, shared on Instagram that his son underwent eyelid surgery. He wrote:

“Dr. Sudhakar Prasad garu, your timely and skillful surgery on Charan’s eyelid has truly been a blessing. What was a moment of concern for us was eased entirely by your precision, care, and expertise. Your craftsmanship made all the difference, and we are truly grateful. Thank you.”
