The much-awaited sequel Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, has received an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification ahead of its theatrical release.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has reportedly undergone 21 modifications following recommendations by the CBFC’s Examining Committee (EC). Despite these changes, the film has already generated strong buzz, crossing ₹100 crore in pre-sales before release.
According to available details, several adjustments were made to tone down intense content. Certain dialogues containing abusive language were modified or muted, while multiple high-impact visuals were shortened. These include brief reductions in scenes depicting physical violence to align with certification guidelines.
Additionally, some sequences involving sensitive visuals were trimmed for duration, and minor corrections were suggested in subtitles related to historical references and place names.

Structurally, the film continues the chapter-based storytelling format seen in its predecessor. The makers were asked to ensure that chapter titles appear in Hindi as part of the presentation.
For sequences involving animals, necessary certification from the relevant authorities was submitted. The production team also provided required permissions for the use of archival or news-related footage referenced in the film.
With paid previews beginning on March 18 and a full release scheduled for March 19, Dhurandhar 2 is positioned as one of the major theatrical releases of the year. The strong advance booking figures indicate high audience interest despite the extensive certification process.
