Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has praised director Aditya Dhar and actress Yami Gautam, claiming that many in the film industry are envious of their recent successes and waiting for them to stumble.
In a recent interview with Rediff, Varma lauded Dhar’s work on the December 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar, saying, “Aditya Dhar has changed the entire grammar of storytelling on screen. His vision has revolutionised filmmaking across languages — not just Hindi. Telugu big-budget action films are undergoing massive reshoots because of him, which shows how he’s pushing the industry out of its comfort zone.”
Varma also spoke about Yami Gautam, who has been receiving acclaim for her role in the courtroom drama Haq, inspired by the 1985 Shah Bano case. The film explores a Muslim woman’s legal battle for maintenance after divorce and features Emraan Hashmi, Vartika Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, and Danish Husain.
“Aditya and Yami will have to proceed with extra caution. The industry is waiting for them to fumble and fall,” Varma added, highlighting the challenges that come with success.
