In a move that has stirred social media, Jason Sanjay, son of actor-turned-politician Vijay, has reportedly dropped the initial ‘V’ from his name, now signing as Jason Sanjay S. The change comes amid the ongoing divorce proceedings between Vijay and his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, after more than 20 years of marriage.

Sangeetha has accused Vijay of an extramarital relationship with an actress, along with “persistent mental cruelty, neglect, and desertion.” The divorce petition is scheduled for hearing on April 10, 2026, at the Chengalpattu District Court.
