Sadia Khateeb on Her First Umrah Amid Global Tensions: “My Duas Are for the World”

Actor Sadia Khateeb has shared an update from Saudi Arabia, assuring fans that she is safe while performing her first Umrah with her family.

The actress spoke about her experience during a time of global uncertainty, when several flights across parts of the Middle East have reportedly been affected by ongoing regional tensions.

“I am here and completely safe with my family,” Sadia said. “Amid everything happening around the world, prayers are all that I can offer. My duas are for the world. May everyone remain safe.”

Celebrating Eid in Medina

This year marks a special spiritual milestone for the actress as she performs Umrah for the first time. Travelling with her family, Sadia plans to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in the holy city of Medina.

She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to experience the sacred journey with her loved ones.

“I feel grateful for this moment,” she said. “This year, Eid will be in Medina with my family. We are happy and safely placed here, and I’m looking forward to experiencing it together.”

A Pause After a Busy Work Schedule

The trip comes after a hectic phase in Sadia’s professional life. The actress recently completed work on her upcoming film Silaa.

Before travelling to Saudi Arabia, she spent the early part of Ramzan in her hometown Jammu, enjoying time with family before heading for the pilgrimage.

“This time I have consciously decided to focus entirely on Ramzan — on being present with family and immersing myself in the spirit of the holy month in a holy place,” she shared.

Finding Balance Between Work and Faith

Reflecting on the past few years, Sadia admitted that her work schedule had been intense.

She described the last two years as demanding, with continuous rehearsals, long working hours and promotions. Even during the promotional phase of her film The Diplomat, she continued observing her fasts.

“While promoting the film, I still managed to balance my professional responsibilities with fasting,” she said. “Sometimes I even had to break my fast during live interviews.”

However, this year’s Ramzan has been different for the actress, as she chose to slow down and focus on family and spirituality.

Special Moments During Iftar

For Sadia, the most meaningful part of the day during Ramzan remains the Iftar.

She said breaking the fast with her family, especially her mother, is a cherished moment.

“The most rewarding part of the day, especially after work, is breaking my fast with my family,” she said. “Sharing iftar with my mother is particularly special. She truly makes the best iftar, and nothing compares to home-cooked food during Ramzan.”
