Divya Agarwal Responds to ‘Gold Digger’ Accusation

Actor and reality TV personality Divya Agarwal has responded to accusations made during the reality show The 50, where fellow contestant Bhavya Singh allegedly referred to her as a “wealth digger.”

The remark surfaced shortly before Divya’s elimination from the show, sparking discussion online about her personal life and marriage.

Clarifies Relationship With Husband Apurva Padgaonkar

Addressing the speculation in an interview with Zoom TV, Divya clarified that she and her husband Apurva Padgaonkar are still together despite currently living in separate homes.

According to the actor, the arrangement is simply due to their professional commitments.

She explained that she stays close to her workplace while Apurva lives nearer to his own office, but the couple continues to spend time together regularly.

‘I’m Not a Gold Digger, I’m a Diamond Digger’

Responding to the criticism, Divya dismissed the accusations with a light-hearted remark.

She said that while people may have incomplete information about her relationship, her marriage remains strong. In response to the “gold digger” label, she joked that she prefers to call herself a “diamond digger,” describing her husband as a “diamond.”

Husband’s Reaction After Her Elimination

Divya also revealed how Apurva reacted after she was eliminated from the show.

She said he supported her and jokingly asked why she had not won the competition. According to the actor, she told him that winning every reality show is not necessary.

After she returned home, Apurva reportedly tried to cheer her up with her favourite food, something she said always helps improve her mood.

Marriage and Rumours

Divya Agarwal married businessman Apurva Padgaonkar in February 2024 in a traditional ceremony in Mumbai.

Soon after the wedding, rumours about trouble in their marriage began circulating online.

In response, the actor previously addressed the speculation through a post on Instagram, saying she had chosen to stay quiet while people continued to speculate about her relationship.

She emphasised that neither divorce nor the other expectations being discussed online reflected the reality of her marriage.
